Christmas contentment

Do you struggle with contentment around the holidays? It’s crazy. The season that celebrates the coming of the Savior who meets all our needs often finds us crabby and discontent. We focus on what we don’t have or what we can’t give, rather than what we do have and all that we’ve been given. Crazy, isn’t it?

Catalogues make us want what we can’t afford. Christmas cards only tell the smiling, shiny part of the story. Songs on the radio warble about the family we don’t have and the snow we’ll never see. It’s enough to make anyone want to turn off the blinking lights and go to bed.

But before you give into that urge, read this blog post. I love reading Gloria’s thoughts over at Domestic Kingdom, and this post was exactly what my discontented heart needed to hear this week.
