Need some help focusing on Christ this Christmas?
We do, too. Here are some ideas you might like:
Preschoolers: Read through the much-loved Jesus Storybook Bible following an advent reading plan. Here’s one you can follow through the days of December.
Elementary kiddos: A friend of mine has written some neat Advent devotionals that tell the whole story of Christmas, beginning in the Old Testament. She also describes how to make a creative Advent tree as you read.
Family: If you’re looking for something to hit several different ages at once, our family has enjoyed the Advent series by Arnold Ytreeide. Start with Jotham’s Journey and if you like it, you can do Bartholomew’s Passage next year and Tabitha’s Travels the following.
Teens-Adults: Our family is reading through this e-book whenever we end up at the table at the same time: Touching Wonder: Recapturing the Awe of Christmas by John Blase. We’re loving it so far.
My daughter and I are reading Ann Voskamp’s advent devotional together at breakfast and recycling our Jesse Tree from last year. 🙂
Personal: Want to keep it simple? Have these Advent emails come straight to your inbox from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary faculty. They are a blessing.
